Short Description
From downtown Freiburg, cross the Dreisam river and take Günterstalstraße towards Schauinsland and Todtnau. Follow tram line 2 as a guide until you leave Freiburg after about a kilometer. The road gradually inclines until reaching Günterstal, then passes through Bohrer, where the road splits towards Horben or continues to Schauinsland.
The ascent to Schauinsland is marked by varying gradients, with a maximum of 12% shortly after Bohrer. After 12 km, you reach Holzschlägermatte, offering views of the Rhine Valley. The gradient eases towards the summit.
