Short Description
Embarking on a cycling adventure through Japan’s stunning landscapes, I journeyed from Atami to Shimoda, then to Numazu, and finally to Kofu. The trip was a kaleidoscope of breathtaking scenery, cultural encounters, and exhilarating experiences.
Starting in Atami, known for its hot springs and coastal vistas, I ventured to Shimoda, where the legendary Ryugu Castle perched atop a cliff offered panoramic views of the Pacific. En route, I explored Irozaki’s rugged coastline and picturesque vistas, immersing myself in Japan’s natural beauty.
From Shimoda, I pedaled towards Numazu, passing through the serene town of Shuzenji, famed for its temples and rejuvenating hot springs. Suruga Bay provided a captivating backdrop, with the iconic silhouette of Mount Fuji gracing the horizon.
Continuing inland to Kofu, I traversed the charming town of Gotemba, renowned for its outlet malls and majestic views of Mount Fuji. A detour to Lake Kawaguchi revealed a tranquil oasis, where the crystal-clear waters mirrored the snow-capped peak of Japan’s highest mountain.
Throughout the journey, each stop unveiled new wonders and cultural insights, from ancient legends to modern-day attractions. Cycling through Japan proved to be not only a physical adventure but also a soul-stirring exploration of the Land of the Rising Sun.
